About Me
Why Do I Design?
"I enjoy creating and strive to improve on the existing"
I am a curious, dedicated, passionate, solution driven graphic designer, and enjoy the challenges that each new project brings. I enjoy creating and strive to improve on the existing.
Within any design, my key focus points are first and foremost that of balance and harmony; the basic elements that gives form to function, and that brings to life the visual side to every story.
My greatest satisfaction in every design comes not from the final product, but from successfully meeting the needs of the client and the excitement of surpassing their expectations.
The Number 4 -
My name is Heimari Dreyer; I am a qualified, senior graphic designer, and the sole owner of Scarlet-White Graphic Design (Pty) Ltd.
The story of my life’s journey is quite ordinary, and as a person, I too am nothing out of the ordinary, however, growing up in the small town that I did, I always knew that I wanted to “make a difference”, about someday being able to influence someone’s life.
With art being my best, and favourite skill and subject while in school, I went on to study Graphic Design at the North-West University of Potchefstroom.
I completed my 4-year BA Bachelor degree in 2007 and joined the Christian Art Publishers’ design team as a junior designer in 2008, where I spent the next 4 years gaining valuable experience as a designer.
From Christian Art Publishers I excepted an admin position at the firm my husband was working for at the time so that we could relocate to Mpumalanga where we spent the next year working on a project.
Then it was off to the city – Pretoria. The company pulled us back in to the head office, and at this point, I started freelancing after hours. Mostly for family, friends and acquaintances at the time, and trademarked my design label, Gotta Love Paws, for clothing. Again, 4 years in total, until the company had to retrench me due to financial struggles.
From there, the next 4 years, I spent working as an in-house designer for a Work at Height company, and also found my wings – While often feeling unsure about myself and my own strengths in my past, I got to work alongside exceptional people, and finally realised that the difference I have been wanting to make, is already happening.
I found that my compassion, empathy and consistency towards people, was my biggest strength, and through that I could provide an ordinary service to people in an extraordinary way.
In 2020 another 4 years had past, and again I was charting unfamiliar waters;
Scarlet-White Graphic Design – Now I am flying solo and excited about what the future holds!
